Today is a special day in my family life, it is this man’s 75th birthday that I have the privilege to call him my father. There is a lot of history behind these doors for him and it was a life long dream to be able to be here together just a few weeks ago as an early birthday present. New York City opened doors he never thought could happen as it does for millions of other too – he was forced to close doors and build new ones in the early 60s and this magnificent church was his sanctuary for 15 years. And though he didn’t understand at first, he learned a new language, survived discrimination, became even more street smart, stayed true to his principles, brought his parents and my uncle out of hardcore communism, met my mother, started a family and the rest is history. It is because of him that I love my birth city and being here at this very special church together confirmed it. He is our Dad, a brother, a loving uncle, a funny grandfather, a loyal friend and much more! May this new year of life have endless doors of good health and more blessings be opened for him! ¡Feliz Cumpleaños Daddy! ¡Te queremos mucho! 07.16.16 🚪🍀🙏🏼😊🎂#luckedoutoday
