Today in my country we open doors to our loved ones to come together to celebrate Thanksgiving whether it’s in person, a call or just a thinking of you message, it’s about love.
It’s a day to close the doors to differences, share a meal, share stories, laugh when something funny happens and just be open to the meaning of the day – to give thanks and be grateful for the friends and family bonds we have.
Last year while in old town Marbella at dusk, I came across this restaurant. It called to my heart because family is important to me – we have good days and we have bad days. Usually those bonds, at least in my family, are strong and I am grateful for that. I feel it is my obligation to keep those doors open to that bond our grandparents instilled in us.
Today however, many don’t feel thankful for doors that have closed on them and makes celebrating harder. Whether it’s the loss of a loved one, a bad health report, caught up in crazy politics, not having a special someone or not able to be home to be with those you care for, we owe it to ourselves to open doors to life as we have it today into prosperity. There is always something and someone in your life to be thankful for! As my grandparents would have said.. may you all have a Happy San GivingĀ #luckedoutoday
