Living in South Florida opens doors to many opportunities especially when it comes to warmer climate.  But the holidays, we crave being as far away as possible in cooler and picturesque sceneries. Five days away from Christmas, I woke up today reminiscing my time in South of Spain on how magical it must be during this time of the year.

I recalled just taking a random pedestrian street into Albaicin in Granada to explore and see what fabulous doors I’d encounter. Yes, I did find plenty and amused wanting to knock on doors and run away like a child, but what surprised me mostly was the way of life of basics to see a postman doing his job.

It took me by surprise in this fairy-tale type of neighborhood, how many doors does he encounter? Does he even notice them? Is it for him like the tv show Cheers that everyone knows his name when they open their door to sign off on a package? I’m sure many do and even during colder climates and rain he does it with joy as this is the way of life in this part of the world.

This is the beauty of travel- it opens doors to not just enjoy the views but makes your appreciate unlocking your front door to be home or give you that push to explore new doors in a far away land from home.  #luckedoutoday
