A few weeks ago…
just a few blocks from my hotel was this beautiful Italian Renaissance style mansion that eventually the Fundación Eva Perón bought and called it El Hogar which is home. Evita was a controversial figure, loved and hated, lived a short life but did she have style. Today, its doors are open as a museum to learn about her life and well to see her gorgeous dresses too plus enjoy una miga or media luna at its cafe, yummy! What I found so interesting besides this door and garden steps behind me was its history – El Hogar opened doors to women and children for those in need for as long as necessary until they could be on their own and also to be a place of encouragement and support. Isn’t it ironic that at times the least person you know is desperately seeking for an open door of encouragement and support by loved ones but instead find it in complete strangers or acquaintances that believe in them. Be present with your loved ones, help open doors for them, you never know if you’ll be in their shoes one day. 🚪🍀🙏🏼👠 #luckedoutoday
